In 1930, the Swedish family-owned company Grythyttan Stålmöbler (Grythyttan Steel Furniture) designed and manufactured their first chair, the A2, which was introduced at The Stockholm Exhibition. The gentle rocking sensation of the sprung steel gave a unique sense of relaxation and the functional design was timeless. Success was immediate, and a complete range of garden furniture soon followed.
