In 1950 Knoll invited the sculptor Harry Bertoia to design a family of chairs. Developed largely through hand-made models, Bertoia tried out many variations, with the goal of shaping space using minimal structure. The Bertoia collection was launched in 1952, and is among the most recognised achievements of mid-century modern design.

Slender yet robust, the Bertoia stool in cowhide is comfortable and versatile. The leather bar stool is well suited to use in residential and contract environments.

Materials
Base: Welded steel rods in polished chrome or with painted black, white or bronze finish. Four plastic glides. Basket: plastic shell completely upholstered in cowhide in three different colours.
