In 1950 Knoll invited the sculptor Harry Bertoia to design a family of chairs. Developed largely through hand-made models, Bertoia tried out many variations, with the goal of shaping space while utilising a light, airy structure. The Bertoia collection was launched in 1952, and is among the most recognised achievements of mid-century modern design.
The fully upholstered Bertoia chair is popular choice for dining rooms, meeting rooms and design-led interiors. The Knoll logo is stamped into the base of each chair.
