The Story
Joe Colombo initially came up with the CoupĂ© series as a variation of his Spider designs. Keeping the base and stem from those pieces, the simple and ingenious mechanism that connects the stem to the lampâs head which allows the light to be sent in several directions, by moving the dome up, down and sideways.
The CoupĂ© won the 1968 âInternational Design Awardâ of the American Institute of Interior Designers in Chicago. It is part of the permanent collection at both the MoMA in New York and the âNeue Sammlungâ Museum in Munich.
Available with either a semi-cylindrical or a semi-spherical dome.///Description
