The Story
The GrĂ€shoppa pendant has emerged from Greta M. Grossmanâs original lamp design from 1947 and features the iconic steel shade. It is a classic yet contemporary pendant light, perfectly suited over a kitchen counter or paired over a dining table.///DescriptionÂ
The Grashoppa collection, which also features a table light and floor light, captures Grossmanâs whimsical design language. Organically inspired, the Grasshopper lights bring a sense of character to a modern and functional piece.
Grossman was highly influenced by European Modernism, which had been imported to the US by influential architects, such as Walter Gropius (founder of the Bauhaus) and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. Grossman, in turn, played a significant role in defining the aesthetic of mid-century Californian Modernism.
