Guild shelf

Originally designed in 1954 for Peter Hvidt’s family home in Klampenborg, the Guild Shelf reflects the essence of true craftsmanship. Its gently undulating form subtly mirrors the curving paths of the surrounding garden, creating a design that is both refined and expressive.

Defined by its pared-back aesthetic and attention to detail, the shelf offers a timeless and balanced composition. Crafted from solid wood, it provides a practical yet elegant surface for displaying books and objects, seamlessly integrating into a variety of interior settings.

Renowned for the simplicity and craftsmanship of their designs, Peter Hvidt met Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen at Kunsthåndværkerskolens Snedkerskole, where he began first as his student and later taught alongside him. The two formed an instant, close friendship, moving on to experience their first success as a design duo after entering and winning the 1943 Swedish Slöjdföreningen's competition.
