The Story
This generously proportioned pint mug is crafted from fine bone china and finished with layered reactive glazes, creating a subtle wave-like surface with natural variation. Exceptionally large yet refined, it offers a contemporary take on the classic oversized mug, ideal for herbal tea drinkers who prefer a generous pour. Despite its scale, the fine bone china gives it a lightness and elegance in hand.///Description
A long-standing SCP collaborator, Reiko Kaneko, spent her childhood in Japan. The country hasn't only been an inspiration for the elegant simplicity to which she strives, but the key to her appreciation of craftsmanship. After graduating from Central Saint Martins, she learned about fine bone china production at The Potteries in Stoke-on-Trent, which led her to concentrate on ceramics. Reiko works from her workshop in Stoke-on-Trent as well as her studio in London, where she crafts one-off pieces and limited-edition ceramics.
