The design nests two folded sheets of steel perpendicularly, which are then laser-welded together, to create a single strong form. The construction method creates a useful shelf below the top, ideal for books and other small household items. Resort is a design that appears almost effortless, ideal for both indoor and outdoor environments, made from powder-coated mild steel.

Initially launched to critical acclaim in 2009, the SCP Boxed Collection challenged designers to create smaller-scale pieces that fit within the dimensions of a standard DHL international shipping box (480 x 400 x 390mm). More broadly, the aim was to design objects that could be easily carried out of a store or efficiently shipped via e-commerce.

For 2025, SCP has revisited the Boxed Collection brief, inviting a mix of established designers and emerging talent to explore the concept once again. With no restrictions on material, the brief encourages a diverse range of product typologies, reflecting the evolving landscape of contemporary design.
