Saarinen round side table - 41 cm

Designed by Eero Saarinen in 1957, the Pedestal collection presented a simple solution to the visual clutter of table and chair legs. The Saarien tables, otherwise known as Tulip tables, come in a variety of shapes, sizes and marble top finishes.///Description
In order to address the "ugly, confusing, unrestful world" that Saarinen witnessed underneath chairs and tables, Saarinen designed a family of furniture with single, fluted pedestal bases. This streamlined form dramatically reduced the number of legs, and remains an iconic silhouette widely seen in kitchens, dining rooms and meeting rooms.

The Saarinen table shown comprises a white Rislan base and a choice of marble tops. Also available in a wide range of finishes, please enquire for more information.

The Knoll logo is located on the underside of the base. A nameplate with the KnollStudio logo and the signature of the designer is also located on the underside of the top or on the top support plate.

Materials
Base: Original Saarinen design. Heavy moulded cast aluminium. Black and white bases are protected with Rilsan. Top: Bevel-edged satin smooth laminate, lacquer, acrylic stone, marble or veneer. Marble coated with transparent polyester to avoid use associated stains.
