In order to streamline the "ugly, confusing, unrestful world" that Saarinen observed underneath chairs and tables, Saarinen designed a collection of furniture with fluted pedestal bases. Now a design classic, the Saarinen round table is a popular choice for dining rooms and meeting rooms.
The Saarinen table shown comprises a white Rislan base and round marble top which seats 4 people. Also available in a wide range of top and base finishes, please enquire for more information.
The Knoll logo is located on the underside of the base. A nameplate with the KnollStudio logo and the signature of the designer is also located on the underside of the top or on the top support plate.
Materials
Base: Original Saarinen design. Heavy moulded cast aluminium with white Rilsan finish. Top: Bevel-edged satin smooth marble in gloss or satin finish. Marble coated with transparent polyester to avoid use-associated stains.
