A component-based side table with a folded steel base and a sheet metal top. With a name inspired by a precious metal measurement system from the middle-ages, Troy started life as a much weightier design but has been refined to make it slimmer, lighter and easier to move around.///Description
The design has a square top with rounded edges in power-coated graphite grey and mild steel legs in yellow gold.
Initially launched to critical acclaim in 2009, the SCP Boxed Collection challenged designers to create smaller-scale pieces that fit within the dimensions of a standard DHL international shipping box (480 x 400 x 390mm). More broadly, the aim was to design objects that could be easily carried out of a store or efficiently shipped via e-commerce.
For 2025, SCP has revisited the Boxed Collection brief, inviting a mix of established designers and emerging talent to explore the concept once again. With no restrictions on material, the brief encourages a diverse range of product typologies, reflecting the evolving landscape of contemporary design.
