Work trestles

A pair of Trestles that blend lightness and durability with an elegant pared-back sensibility. Work is a versatile design, suitable as a dining table, home office desk or for studio environments. The trestles are both strong and light, making them easy to move and robust enough to cope with a range of activities. Thick timber sections and clever joinery details lend the design a distinctive hard outline, while the tapered feet add to an overall sense of poise. Made from FSC European Beech and stainless steel hardware. They are available with a 25 mm laminated double-sided top, in grey and white with plywood lipping.

Initially launched to critical acclaim in 2009, the SCP Boxed Collection challenged designers to create smaller-scale pieces that fit within the dimensions of a standard DHL international shipping box (480 x 400 x 390mm). More broadly, the aim was to design objects that could be easily carried out of a store or efficiently shipped via e-commerce.

For 2025, SCP has revisited the Boxed Collection brief, inviting a mix of established designers and emerging talent to explore the concept once again. With no restrictions on material, the brief encourages a diverse range of product typologies, reflecting the evolving landscape of contemporary design.
